Livin' the Dream...

So I live in Venice Beach now, I work in Hollywood, and I drink way too much coffee.  I know what you're thinking, sooooo LA.  But in the last couple months I've finally gotten a firm grasp on what direction my career and life are going as of now.  First, I started working for a guy named Jeff Lipsky, who is on the of the premiere celebrity photographers in LA.  Two things I really like about Jeff are that he's 42 yrs. old and dresses and acts like a 21 year old (jeans, hoodie, vans) and that he shoots all film still, not digital.  I thought this was nearly impossible to be a competitive Advertising photographer and not shoot digital, but he's proved me wrong.  He's the nicest guy in the world and his work is fuckin' rad, super clean.  Check out his website www.jefflipsky.com
Next on the agenda is my new purchase, an RZ 6x7 medium format film camera that has made me fall in love with shooting photos again.  It's a beast of a camera, but the quality is absolutely ridiculous, SIIIIIICK!!!!!!  For those of you who know me, I tend to sell 1/2 of my equipment every 6 months and buy different stuff, partly because I like trying new ways of shooting and partly because I'm constantly looking for ways to streamline my equipment (i.e. "more bang for the buck")...As a matter of fact, I'm going to go shoot some photos right now...

STUFF AND OTHER THINGS....

WOW!!!! So since I started this blog I've had a million new things happen in my life, both good and bad.  Where do I start?  Okay, here we go...
My grandfather passed away a couple weeks ago after suffering a massive stroke that left the whole right side of his body paralyzed, it all came on so fast that I didn't even get to see him before he left the earth.  Oddly enough, the sadness passed pretty quickly after realizing that he is now back with my grandmother in heaven.  Growing up I would spend summer days at Zuma beach in Malibu, just down the hill from his house.  This is when my love affair with the ocean began, about 5 years old.  Looking back on life I realize that surfing, not just the physical sport but the culture as a whole, has shaped my entire human existence.  And I owe it all to him and my grandmother for giving me the chance to experience something so pure..... Thank You and I Love You Both!!! The memorial service is set for the weekend of my birthday in January at Brentwood Presbyterian Church.  That reminds me, my grandmother's memorial service was on my 21st birthday... Does that mean something?  Or is it just coincidence?  You be the judge... Okay next post is all good stuff, including a super hot girl that I met last night...

Grey Has A Blog Now!!!

Is this thing on?  Just Checking.  So I started this blog so friends, family, and all other people I've met in my lifetime will have something to do while sitting in thier cubicles.  Let's face it, while my mind might not create inspiring thoughts or have anything amazing to shovel onto this page, I figure this is a great way to talk about anything I like without having to hear people's responses, like texting.  So besides all of the spelling, grammar, and puncutation mistakes you might find (sorry Dad), I hope you enjoy the information and images I have to offer.  MORE TO COME......
